A metal crafted Mule Head inspired by our family's passion for back country packing. In its common modern meaning, a mule is the offspring of a maledonkey and a female horse. From experience, mules are generally considered to be more intelligent than either horses or donkeys. The mule possesses the sobriety, patience, endurance and sure-footedness of the ass, and the vigour, strength and courage of the horse. Operators of working animals generally find mules preferable to horses: mules show less impatience under the pressure of heavy weights, while their skin, harder and less sensitive than that of horses, renders them more capable of resisting sun and rain. Their hooves are harder than horses, and they show a natural resistance to disease and insects.
If your a mule owner or a fan of mules then this item is for you. The head, mane, and ears are from a piece of old mining steel sheeting, hand hammered to shape. The halter is strap metal and steel rings, painted. For an eye I used a ball bearing from the head rig at our local sawmill. Will continue to naturally rust if left exposed to the elements. |
